Three islands of the Cyclades with their respective tourist “identities” were presented by Italian journalist Sonia Anselmo on a recent trip organized by the Municipalities in collaboration with MTC GROUP and sponsored by SEAJETS.
In a vivid manner, Ms. Anselmo, who manages www.latitudinex.com, a blog that records places, traditions, stories, food, curiosities and emotions from around the world, described her experiences during the one week she dedicated to the three islands, Syros, Paros and Kimolos. And he wrote:
“Similar in their dazzling blue sea and their doors, in the narrow streets of their villages, in the summer that extends until autumn, where you can swim without suffering from too much heat, in the semi-deserted and quiet beaches, in the wonderful encounters with cats, in the fleeting clouds, different in spirit:
Syros, more lively and urban, with its bustling beach and secluded bays.
Paros, more touristic and cultural, with the archaeological museum and the ancient church, the restaurants in the harbor and the fishing villages.
Kimolos, a real surprise, wild in its diverse nature, with a positive energy that feeds a big, hospitable heart.
All unique for the hospitality and generosity of the residents: especially in Syros, Deputy Mayor Ioannis, Vivi and the excellent Elena who showed us around. in Paros, Kyriaki and Marina with her husband who looked after us in the apartment. In Kimolos, Deputy Mayor Manos and Efi and her family who helped us so much in every area”.
The addition to the article, which was also accompanied by photographic material, was also impressive: “The magic of Greece, the reason why this land, so endowed with such gifts – nature, history, ancient civilization and gastronomy – rises deep in your heart, is precisely this. Or as Efi’s wise young son says, “You come here as a tourist and you leave as a family”. I have missed that all these years”.
