Turkey is introducing itself as a “Super Destination” – Strategic alliance with Trip.com

Turkey is dynamically strengthening its international tourism image through a new strategic partnership with Chinese giant Trip.com Group, in which the country aims to establish itself as a “Super Destination” for travelers from all over the world.

The agreement, announced at the Trip.com Group’s Global Partner Summit in Istanbul, was signed between Amanda Wang, vice president of strategic partnerships and projects of the group, and Sinan Seha T?rkseven, general manager of T?rkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA).

The aim of the partnership is to highlight the cultural depth, natural beauty and variety of experiences that Turkey offers, with a particular emphasis on the Asian market. Trip.com Group data already shows strong growth: inbound flight bookings to Turkey increased by 38% in the first half of 2025 compared to last year, while hotel bookings increased by 16%, with the UK, Germany, China as the main markets, but also an impressive increase from Indonesia (+178%).

The partnership between Trip.com Group and TGA focuses on strengthening air connectivity, expanding accommodation options and promoting in-destination experiences – from attractions and tours to thematic campaigns that will highlight the different aspects of the country: cosmopolitan Istanbul, the magnificent landscapes of Cappadocia, the coast of Antalya, the cultural heritage of Izmir and the gastronomy of Turkish cuisine.

Trip.com Group will leverage its global network and technology platform to reach millions of travelers, with a focus on Asia-Pacific markets — China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia and Indonesia. It will also support the sustainable development of Turkish tourism by promoting GSTC-certified accommodations across its platforms.

Istanbul, in fact, was named among Trip.Best’s top 100 global destinations for 2025.
