Greek Tourism Minister at ITB: 2024 will be another excellent year for sector

Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni had contacts with her political counterparts, officials from the tourism market, and representatives of the media during her visit to the international tourism exhibition ITB in Berlin, ANA reports.

Kefalogianni met with her counterpart from Saudi Arabia Ahmed Al Khateeb, and Saudi Deputy Minister of Tourism Haifa bint Muhammad Al Saud. They agreed not only to update the cooperation agreement inked in 2014 but also to develop a framework for future cooperation.

The Tourism Minister also met with the Deputy Minister of Tourism of Cyprus Constantinos Koumi, with whom they discussed expanding collaboration between the two countries.

Olga Kefalogianni also had meetings with the chiefs of Lufthansa, Easy Jet, TUI, CONDOR, Jet2, and Jet2Holidays, as well as DER, all of which include many Greek tourist destinations in their 2024 programs.

“2024 is expected to be another excellent year for Greece and Greek tourism. The messages we receive, despite the difficulties in the international environment, are positive,” stressed Kefalogianni in statements to Greek reporters in Berlin, as well as to foreign media.

The region of Attica also participated in ITB in the national stand of the Greek National Tourism Organization. At meetings, Regional Governor Nikos Hardalias said that extroversion comprised the focus of the tourism policy of the Region of Attica, and he presented a four-pillar plan for sustainable and quality tourism in the islands of Attica.
