Region of the Aegean | Extraordinary campaign with TUI to promote Santorini

The region of the Aegean signed a contract worth 20,000 euros with TUI Deutschland, with the aim of creating an extraordinary promotional campaign by the tour operator for the island of Santorini.

The contract, with a duration that may reach until December 20, 2025, is made on the basis of urgent expenses and specifically the needs that have arisen for the implementation of an extraordinary advertising campaign for Santorini, due to the start of the tourist season.

The advertising campaign will aim to highlight the beauty and attractiveness of Santorini and through it to achieve a halt to the negative image among potential and existing visitors, in order to protect the local economy of the island and by extension the national economy.

According to the Region, the campaign is deemed necessary as Santorini is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, with a significant contribution to the local and national economy and as a leading tourist destination, has been seriously affected by repeated earthquakes, which has created doubts and concerns among its potential visitors and more generally in the target markets to which it is addressed.

The promotion services include…

-Presentation of Santorini on 500 screens within 500 TUI travel agencies for a period of one week. The presentation will be 30 seconds long and will be shown 6 times per hour.

-An organic post about Santorini on the TUI B2B Instagram profile with at least one image, teaser text, and hashtags.

-Promotion of Santorini via a banner within an email newsletter with dimensions 290x254px for desktop computers and 360x200px for mobile devices. The banner will include the Aegean Islands logo, teaser text, and a link to the Santorini page on the TUI website. The email will be sent to at least 1 million recipients selected from the TUI customer base.

-Promotion of Santorini via a Hero banner with dimensions 2000 x 470 px that will appear on the “Couples” page of tui.com for a period of two weeks, with text, image, and the Aegean Islands logo. The banner will link to a tui.com Santorini landing page.

-Promotion of Santorini via a 747 x 364 px teaser content, which will appear on the tui.com Greece page, with teaser text and the Aegean Islands logo. The banner will link to a Santorini landing page on tui.com.

-Promotion of Santorini via five organic Pinterest Pins, on the TUI partners’ board, which will lead to the tui.com Santorini landing page.

-Advertising campaign for Santorini via social media (Facebook and Instagram) in various formats, which will achieve a total of at least 4 million impressions.
