Tour operators from the Netherlands visited Pieria and Mount Olympus as part of promotional activities implemented by the Pierian Tourism Development and Promotion Organization (P.O.T.A.P.). The visit, which took place on Friday, June 13, is a natural continuation of the Organization’s successful digital campaign and B2B teleconferences with tourism professionals from Central and Northern Europe.
The tour operators had already gained a first impression of the destination through online contacts in winter and spring. Now, they had the opportunity to get to know the tourist product of Pieria up close, in an experience focusing on the natural beauty, cultural heritage, and the potential for alternative tourism in the region.
The visitors were welcomed by the Director of P.O.T.A.P., Mr. Vasilis Dimou, together with the Organization’s partners, presenting the main tourist potential of the Paralympic region and discussing cooperation prospects.
The program of the visit included guided tours to coastal and mountainous areas, contact with the natural landscape of the mythical Olympus, visits to cultural monuments, and participation in alternative activities. Through personal experience, tourism professionals had the opportunity to get to know in depth an authentic Greek destination with potential for thematic tourism, 12 months a year.
P.O.T.A.P., implementing a broader strategic plan of extroversion, continues to invest both in the use of modern digital tools and in the value of personal experience. Its goal is to enhance the international recognition of Pieria, the expansion of tourist flows from high-interest markets, and the sustainable tourism development of the region.
