More than 120 tourism professionals representing the large German travel group Alltours participated in a total of six familiarization trips (fam trips) organized by Danaos Travel from April to June to the island of Crete, a destination of strategic importance for the German tour operator, as a major bridge of extroversion of Greek tourism with people who have a decisive role in the design and sales of travel packages in Germany.
The purpose of the trips was for German tour agents to experience Cretan hospitality firsthand, to get to know the beauties of the island firsthand, and to gain first-hand holiday experiences from the destination in order to make more successful sales of holiday programs in Crete.
With the care of Danaos Travel in organizing and hosting the German travel agents of Alltours, short-day missions were carried out in April (1), May (3), and June (2). The initiative aimed to strengthen the image of Crete as an authentic and modern destination with quality services, strong tourist infrastructure, and rich cultural heritage.
Each group consisted of approximately 20 professionals, who visited hotel units and tourist areas of Eastern Crete, from Kokkini Hani to Ierapetra, while one of the groups also visited Western Crete, expanding the range of tours.
The German travel agents had the opportunity to visit all three Alltours hotels on the island (Allsun Zorbas Village, Allsun Carolina Mare, and Allsun Malia Beach) as well as the Alltoura Club Hotel Mare Blue & Village that opened this year in Ierapetra.
Part of the tours included the accompaniment of a tour guide, who provided valuable information about the destination.
Upon their arrival, Danaos Travel offered them Cretan products as gifts, such as raki, pasteli, a map of Crete, and a tourist guide (booklet) with information about the island.
