Germany’s second largest tour operator, Dertour, has recorded a strong increase of 21% compared to last year in the number of its customers who preferred luxury holidays in Greece in the summer of 2025, with our country taking first place in demand.
Spain and Germany followed in the ranking of the most popular luxury travel destinations, with the latter showing a 30% increase and being among the most dynamic luxury holiday destinations.
Tour operator data (Dertour, ITS, Meiers Weltreisen and Travelix Last Minute) for the period June – September 2025, record a strong trend for luxury and all-inclusive travel, with demand for luxury holidays showing a 15% increase compared to last year, while record demand was also recorded for all-inclusive.
When it comes to luxury travel, travelers attach the greatest importance to privacy, design, authenticity and sustainability. Most bookings were made in January.
In the summer of 2025, more than half of Dertour customers preferred all-inclusive food, gathering a record share (57%), increased by 2 percentage points compared to the summer of 2024.
In All-inclusive, Turkey remains the most popular destination with a 23% share, followed by Spain and Greece. Germany, despite showing an increase in demand share by 23%, was displaced from the top four by Egypt. According to the company, this is attributed to the attractive price-quality balance offered by Egypt.
At the same time, only 11% chose a distant destination, resulting in the share of travelers who chose distant holidays shrinking by 1 percentage point compared to last year.
In general, the tour operator appears satisfied with the stable number of visitors.
In the competition, the TUI group, according to data it presented, recorded 2% fewer visitors in the tour operator sector in the summer compared to last year, with losses of 5% for Germany.
