Following the completion of the works for the Open Commerce Center of the Municipality of Chania in 1866 Square and the regeneration of the surrounding area in the core of the commercial center of Chania, the “Suitcase” of the Municipality of Chania, awarded with gold at the Best City Awards 2023, is reopening, serving visitors to the city again.
The “Suitcase” or otherwise the Luggage Storage Station of the Municipality of Chania, serves visitors and passers-by who wish to temporarily and free of charge store their luggage in the city center, safely.
With its characteristic shape, which literally resembles a suitcase, the hut also functions as an Info Point, where the trained staff of the Tourist Office distributes maps of the city and offers information, covering every question of visitors.
“Valitsa” is a modern, innovative and combined tourist service of the Municipality of Chania, which adds value to the provided tourist product.
It is noted that during the Best City Awards 2023 ceremony, it was awarded as “a practice that shows the right path for Innovation and Quality of Life in Greek cities”.
