What did the Municipal Water Supply Company of Rhodes respond to a new hotel that wants to be supplied with water?

The Municipal Water Supply Company of Rhodes sent a response document to a company’s request for a water supply certificate for a new 5-star hotel with a capacity of 318 beds in the Lands of Lindos.

The document is as follows:

“Following your request for a water supply certificate for your new hotel, with a capacity of 318 beds and a 5-star classification in the Lands of Lindos, we inform you that:

Based on the data of the Service and the existing infrastructure in the area, today the quantity of water produced cannot ensure the water supply of new hotel units in the area in question.

Understanding the importance of the investment for your company and the local economy, and taking into account the size of the hotel unit under construction, we inform you that the DEYA of Rhodes will be able to commit to the water supply of your unit, confirming it at the same time, only under the following conditions:

-Completion of Phase B of the water supply projects from the Gadouras Dam: “Rhodes Water Supply Projects from the Gadouras Dam (Phase B) – Construction of the Southern Aqueduct, Afandou & Archangelou Aqueduct”. Specifically, the Southern Aqueduct Projects include the construction of the Main Pipeline and Secondary Branches from the Rhodes Water Treatment Facilities to the settlement of Lachania. The planned projects (networks, tanks, shut-off-control wells and pumping stations) concern the water supply of the P.E. Lindos and the settlements of Asklipieio, Gennadi and Lachania of the Regional Administration of South Rhodes, areas that are of interest to your request. For this project, DEYAR does not have a clear completion schedule as the Implementing Agency is the South Aegean Region.

-In addition to the above, but in second priority is the Desalination Unit that we have included in our Strategic Planning, when and if its construction is completed in the coming years.

-Your commitment to assume the costs related to the research – study, excavation and exploitation of the new boreholes that will be necessary to cover the minimum legal water supply requirements of your new investment, as well as its actual consumption, as well as the cost of the study – construction of the Depression networks and Distribution networks required for the smooth transport of water and the water supply of your new investment.

Awaiting sincere cooperation and appreciation.
