Heraklion Chamber | Attention! – attempted electronic fraud on businesses

The Heraklion Chamber informs its members that in recent days, misleading messages have been sent via email or SMS, requesting the payment of an amount of 50 euros within 7 days for the alleged “registration of their company” in a “Registry”.

The website of this “Registry” is not authorized, has no relation to the G.E.M.H. and may constitute an attempt at fraud.

The G.E.M.H. Information Systems Support Service – Y.M.S. has already confirmed that these messages have no relation to the General Commercial Registry (G.E.M.H.). It is noted that the only official online services of the G.E.M.H. are on the website: https://www.businessportal.gr

It is recommended:

•Do not pay any amount

•Do not reply to the message

•Do not click on links that suggest you

• Forward the suspicious message to the Heraklion Chamber of Commerce: spatharaki@ebeh.gr

• Contact your Bank and report the incident to the Hellenic Police / Cybercrime Prosecution, in case you have already made a payment.

For confirmed and valid information, interested parties can contact the G.E.M.I. Service of the Heraklion Chamber of Commerce, tel: 2810 247030, Ms. Maria Spatharaki, Head of the G.E.M.I. Service of the Heraklion Chamber of Commerce.
