Artificial intelligence is changing the way people work and transforming everyday life at every level. Konstantinos Mylonas, VP of Adecco and Head of the Group in Greece and Bulgaria, speaking to Tornos News, emphasizes that “artificial intelligence has now become an integral part of the work reality, while employees’ trust in its capabilities is steadily increasing.” He also notes that “its utilization can no longer be considered an option for businesses; it is a critical element of strategic planning that can enhance efficiency and create real business value.”
New data from the global Adecco Group survey Global Workforce of the Future depict employees recognizing that AI is transforming their roles while simultaneously offering capabilities that, until a few years ago, were considered impossible. A very large percentage believes that artificial intelligence will create new jobs and redesign the requirements of their roles, while very few express concern about potential job loss.
Daily use of artificial intelligence leads to significant time savings. Employees worldwide report gaining approximately two hours per day, largely through process automation and simplification of demanding tasks. In Greece, the time saved reaches almost 100 minutes daily, showing that the benefit is already substantial. Although this time does not always translate into higher productivity, employees state that AI allows them to perform tasks that were previously impossible without technology.
The research also shows that artificial intelligence deeply affects employee psychology and engagement. Those who feel their work has meaning and connects with the broader purpose of the company show impressively high retention rates. A strong sense of purpose, combined with technological advancement, significantly strengthens team stability.
The need for upskilling has now become a central issue. Employees state that artificial intelligence is changing the way they work and recognize that adapting to new roles requires continuous learning and enhancement of technological and cognitive skills. Companies are called upon to establish clear frameworks, giving employees access to training as well as defined career development paths.
Mr. Mylonas emphasizes that “technology alone is not enough to bring about deep transformation. Human contribution remains decisive in every process of change, progress, and development,” and adds that “organizations need to set clear frameworks and expectations for the new roles emerging through AI so that employees’ efforts translate into meaningful and mutual value.”
The picture that emerges is clear: artificial intelligence is becoming a fundamental component of work reality and requires businesses to invest both in technology and in people. This combination will determine which organizations can truly evolve and leverage the new environment to benefit both productivity and employment.
