The General Secretariat for Research and Innovation to move to the equestrian center in Goudi

The inclusion of the project “Preparation of a preliminary study for the relocation of the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation (GSRI) to the Central Equestrian Building in Goudi” in the sectoral program “Competitiveness” of the NSRF 2021–2025 has been approved, by decision of the Minister of Development.

The project is included in the action “Strengthening Research, Innovation and Technology” and is funded within the framework of national planning for the current programming period, with the aim of the institutional and operational upgrading of the GSRI and the consolidation of critical research and innovation services within a single, modern administrative environment.

Meanwhile, the Central Equestrian Building at the Goudi Olympic Complex, which has already been granted for use to the General Secretariat for Research and Technology, is being designated as the natural core for the new headquarters of the GSRI, strengthening the functional coherence and outward orientation of the research ecosystem.

The inclusion of the preliminary study constitutes the first and crucial step toward the maturation of the project, as it will define the technical, functional, and spatial parameters of the relocation, ensuring readiness for the subsequent stages of implementation.

As emphasized, the utilization of existing public infrastructure in Goudi is part of a sustainable public asset management approach and the rational use of NSRF resources, sending a clear message on how development policy is linked to institutional stability and long-term functionality.
