Two locations in Heraklion and Chania are included in the “Career Days” organized by the Pan-Cretan Association of Hotel Managers and the Region of Crete, in collaboration with local hotel associations, with a focus on boosting employment in the tourism sector.
The events will take place on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with participation from hotels across Crete. The goal is to directly connect employers with prospective employees, covering a wide range of positions in the hotel and catering sectors.
It should be noted that, according to industry estimates, staff shortages in Crete ahead of the new tourist season amount to several thousand job openings, reflecting a long-standing and structural challenge for Greek hospitality. At the same time, demand spans both seasonal and more specialized roles, from reception and food services to technical and administrative positions.
Thus, the “Career Days” are part of a broader strategic effort by the hotel sector to reduce the workforce gap, at a time when tourism remains a key pillar of Crete’s and Greece’s economy and the need for high-quality services is more pressing than ever.
