€23 million for small entrepreneurship in Western Greece

A funding package of €23 million is being allocated to support small and very small entrepreneurship in Western Greece, within the framework of the Operational Program “Western Greece 2021–2027”, aiming at modernization, competitiveness, and the creation of new jobs.

The decision, signed by the Governor of Western Greece, Nektarios Farmakis, αφορά small and very small enterprises, as well as sole proprietorships of professionals and scientists, through the action titled “Modernization of Small Entrepreneurship in Western Greece”. The initiative is structured around three distinct categories of interventions, for which corresponding calls for the submission of investment proposals have been issued.

The actions fall under Specific Objective 1.3 of the program, which focuses on strengthening the sustainable growth and competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises through productive ERDF investments. At the same time, emphasis is placed on technological and digital transformation, extroversion, the green transition, and the overall improvement of the competitive position of businesses.

It should be noted that the funding scheme is allocated as follows:
– €18 million for small investments, with a 50% subsidy rate and an eligible budget ranging from €5,000 to €40,000.
– €3 million for medium-sized investments, with a 50% subsidy rate and a budget from €40,001 to €120,000.
– €2 million for sole proprietorships of professionals and scientists, with a 50% subsidy rate and a budget from €5,000 to €10,000.

At the same time, as highlighted by the regional authority, support for entrepreneurship is treated as a strategic investment in the future of Western Greece, as these interventions aim not only at providing funding but also at helping businesses adapt to modern market requirements, strengthening productivity and the capacity to create added value.

Detailed calls will be published on the websites of the Managing Authority of the “Western Greece 2021–2027” Program, the ESPA (NSRF), as well as the competent intermediate management bodies. In parallel, to inform potential beneficiaries, a dedicated information office will operate at the European Programs Management Authority, while technical support will be provided through the relevant helpdesk.
