Greek exports –including oil products- decreased by 5.1% to 25.804 billion euros in 2015, although excluding oil products the value of exports rose by 8.2 pct in the same period, according to Hellenic Statistical Authority.
The statistics service, in a report, announced that the value of import-arrivals fell by 9.5 pct to 43.581 billion euros in the January-December period last year, while excluding oil products imports grew by 0.8 pct.
Consequently, the country’s trade balance showed a deficit of 17.776 billion euros in 2015, down 15.1 pct from 2014, while excluding oil products, the trade deficit shrank by 7.3 pct.
Trade deficit shrinks
Imports shrank 7.9 pct in December to 3.715 billion euros, from 4.034 billion in 2014, while excluding oil products the value of imports fell by 1.6 pct in the last month of 2015.
Exports decreased 2.6 pct in December to 2.151 billion euros, from 2.209 billion euros in December 2014, while excluding oil products the value of exports grew 2.7 pct in December.
The trade deficit fell to 1.563 billion euros in December, down 14.3 pct from the same month in 2014, while excluding oil products the trade deficit shrank by 7.2 pct.
