Greece’s industrial production increased by 5.2 percent for the second straight month in December, compared to the same period in 2014, according to data that the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) released on Tuesday.
The production rose faster than the 2.0 percent gain in the prior month.
Manufacturing production rose 3.3 percent from the same month a year earlier, mining and quarrying output surged by 9.6 percent and electricity production rose 11.3 percent.
Month-on-month, industrial production climbed at a slower pace of 0.8% in December, following a 2.5% spike in November while the reading showed the 12-month-to-December industrial output index expanded by 0.6 percent compared to the same period in 2014.
At the same time, the seasonally adjusted production index went up 1.4%.
