The annual winter sales period for shops across Greece is expected to start this year on Monday, January 14, 2019, ANA reports.
The special sales will last until Thursday, February 28, 2019, according to an official announcement issued on Monday by the Athens Trade Association.
The stores will be allowed to open on Sunday, January 20, the first Sunday of the sales period, with the recommended operating hours being set between 11:00 and 18:00.
The following Monday, January 21, the association proposes that shops open at noon instead of 09:00, since customer turnout on the Mondays after Sunday openings has been observed to be rather low.
