Unemployment drops 7.1% in Greece during April

Registered unemployment totaled 927,793 persons in April, down 7.1% or 70,529 persons compared with the same month last year and down 10.4% or 107,787 persons from March 2023, official figures showed on Friday, ANA reports.

A report from the Public Employment Agency said that from the total 927,793 registered unemployed, 517,698 (55.8%) were long-term unemployed, men accounted for 35%, and women for 65%. The 30-44 age group recorded the biggest number of unemployed (305,630 or 32.9%). Among the country’s regions, Attica and Central Macedonia recorded the highest number of unemployed (309,582 and 181,876, respectively).
