Greek PM visits supermarket and is briefed on 'permanent price reduction' initiative

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited a supermarket on Saturday morning. He was briefed on the implementation of the “Permanent Price Reduction” initiative, where over 868 product codes belonging to 37 categories of goods have now been included, and the ongoing implementation of the “Household Basket” program.
The Premier had the opportunity to talk with employees and customers of the store.

In the meanwhile, the Ministry of Development puts an end to fake offers that appear tempting.
In an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA-MPA), Development Minister Kostas Skrekas said “our goal is to put an end to all misleading tactics for the benefit of households and healthy competition.”
“The aim is to have clear and substantial offers,” he added.

Furthermore, he reminded us that the inspections are continuous and only recently have fines been imposed on 5 multinationals totaling 3.9 million euros. Approximately 20,000 inspections have been carried out and fines approaching 8 million euros have been imposed, of which about 5.9 million have been paid or confirmed to the competent authorities.
