The holiday market is peaking in anticipation of Christmas and New Year’s in Greece, ANA reports.
Traders expect their turnover to surpass last year’s levels and move above 4 billion euros.
On Monday, shops will be open from 9 am to 9 pm while on Christmas Eve the opening hours for shops will be from 9 am to 6 pm. Wednesday 25 December and Thursday 26 December are public holidays.
Shops will reopen on Friday 27 December, with continuous opening hours from 9 am to 9 pm, on Saturday they will be open from 9 am to 6 pm. On Sunday 29 December, shops will be open from 11 am to 6 pm, while department stores and chain stores will be open from 11 am to 8 pm. On Tuesday 31 December, New Year’s Eve, shops will be open until 6 pm. On Wednesday 1 January and Thursday 2 January, they will be closed.
