Which of Greece’s most stunning islands can a family of four reach by ferry for just €138 round trip? Zakynthos, according to Christina Tetradi, President of the Zakynthos Hoteliers Association, speaking to Tornos News.
This low cost is possible thanks to the road connection to the port of Kyllini, which significantly reduces transportation expenses. “From Kyllini, a family of four can travel to Zakynthos and back, with their car, for a total of €138,” she notes, comparing the cost to other island destinations where ferry tickets are a major burden for families.
Hotel prices also remain competitive, even during August. According to Tetradi, five-star hotels are offering all-inclusive packages around €300 for a family of four, and this year’s lower occupancy rates leave room for last-minute bookings and good deals.
Zakynthos is easily accessible for Greek travelers. The trip from Athens to Kyllini takes under three hours by car, followed by a one-hour ferry ride. The cost-to-value ratio makes the island particularly attractive this year.
Tetradi also emphasizes that Greek visitors pay the same prices as foreign tourists, stating, “All prices are available online and apply to the entire market without discrimination.”
