A 1.6% increase in arrivals and 1.8% in overnight stays was recorded in July 2025 in the country’s tourist accommodations, compared to the corresponding month of 2024.
According to the provisional monthly data on hotel-type accommodations, camping and short-stay collective accommodations (rented rooms) presented by ELSTAT, arrivals in the country’s tourist accommodations amounted to 6.38 million and overnight stays to 31 million.
Foreign arrivals increased by 1.4%, to 5.1 million, and the corresponding overnight stays +1.6%, to 27.1 million, while there was also an increase in arrivals and overnight stays of residents (+2.7% and +3.1%).
In Hotel Accommodation and Camping, foreigners had 3.78 million arrivals, increased by 0.5% compared to July 2024, and 20 million overnight stays, increased by 1.1% compared to last year. However, the increase is greater in their arrivals and overnight stays in rental properties, with +3.9% (to 1.3 million) and +2.9% respectively (to 7 million).
A greater contribution to arrivals and overnight stays in total accommodations was observed by foreigners with a share of 79.9% and 87.4%, respectively.
The average total overnight stay for the month of July 2025 amounted to 4.9 days.
The average overnight stay in all accommodations for foreigners was 5.3 days, while for Greeks it was 3 days.
