Airline seat planning data for this month suggests an expansion of the season into October, with the emergence of emerging markets for Greek tourism boosting the fall, such as Israel and, slowly, China.
According to data from INSETE’s Airdata Tracker, the number of air seats – excluding charters – recorded in the planning of incoming international flights in October 2025 shows an increase of 5.3% compared to the corresponding month of 2024.
This October, 3.05 million air seats are recorded, which represent 10.7% of the share of scheduled air seats in incoming international flights – excluding charters – of the summer season (March – October 2025).
47,450 more seats than Israel
The first market for inbound tourism based on air seats for October remains Germany with approximately 674,600 seats, increased by 3.4% or 22,016 seats.
The UK follows with approximately 583,700 airline seats, down 1.1% compared to October 2024.
The third largest market is Israel, with 187,700 seats, up 33.8% or 47,445 more airline seats than October 2024.
It is followed by Italy with 185,294 seats, up 5.9% and France with an increase of 6.1% and 184,929 seats, almost 10,000 more than last year each.
Switzerland, the Netherlands and Cyprus complete the top 8 of the largest markets in terms of number of scheduled seats for October, with increases of 0.4%, 2.8% and 13% respectively.
+44% seats from China
Regarding the most dynamic markets, the largest increase in planned seats compared to October 2024 is recorded in Moldova (+146%), which are around 7,500, and in Tunisia (+81%).
However, a strong increase of +44% compared to last year is recorded in the number of air seats from China, which are 13,648 compared to around 9,500 last year. Also, 40.4% more air seats have been planned for October from Georgia than last year, i.e. a total of around 14,200.
After Israel (+33.8%), followed by Croatia with an increase of 31% and 11,600 airline seats, Sweden with an increase of 27% or 7,360 seats and a total of 33,900, Slovakia with +26% and 5,800 seats and Albania with +23% and 17,760 seats.
