The turnover of businesses in the accommodation and catering sector in the Regional Unit of Thira recorded double-digit percentage decreases in the third quarter of 2025, as shown by data presented by ELSTAT.
Specifically, for businesses in the accommodation sector – in the Regional Units with a contribution to the total turnover of 2024 greater than 1% – the largest decrease is observed in the Regional Unit of Thira (-14.7%).
On the contrary, the largest increase in turnover was observed in the Regional Unit of Thessaloniki (+8.3%) and the smallest (+1.3%) in the Regional Unit of Kefallinia.
Regarding businesses in the catering sector, the largest decrease in turnover in the third quarter of 2025 compared to the third quarter of 2024 was observed in the Thira Regional Municipality (-13.3%) and the smallest decrease (-1.2%) was recorded in the Attica Region and the Paros Regional Municipality, while the largest increase was recorded in the Corfu Regional Municipality (+4.8%).
The turnover of all businesses in the Accommodation sector in the third quarter of 2025, compared to the third quarter of 2024, increased by 3.2%, and amounted to 6.6 billion euros.
Correspondingly, in catering, turnover recorded a decrease of 1.7% and amounted to 3.97 billion euros.
