The Delphi Municipality has secured funding from the Ministry of Tourism for the preparation of all necessary studies and the technical support required for the establishment and operation of a Destination Management & Marketing Organization (DMO). This is the most significant news highlighted at the recent informational review event of the municipality, marking its transition to a modern model of organizing and promoting its tourism product.
At this point, it should be noted that this funding paves the way for the institutional upgrade of the destination, as the Delphi Municipality is simultaneously preparing a proposal for its designation as a Model Tourist Destination. This development strengthens the strategic objective of the area to acquire a unified identity, coherent management, and clearly defined development priorities.
At the same time, the amendment of the Delphi Network’s statute – approved unanimously by its partners – now allows the Network to operate as a local destination management entity, enhancing the ecosystem of collaborations that has been developed. This policy decision confirms the determination of all parties to create a professional, effective, and internationally recognized framework for tourism governance.
Meanwhile, the announcement was made at the conclusion of the event titled “Tourism as a Pillar of Development for the Delphi Municipality – Review of Actions and Interventions to Enhance Visitor Numbers.” The focus was on the first review of the three-year tourism promotion plan submitted at the beginning of the year and approved by the Ministry of Tourism and the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO).
The event highlighted work in infrastructure, culture, digital identity, and the strengthening of outward promotion, while all interventions were linked to the central objective: the creation of a comprehensive tourism model that delivers multiplied value to the local economy.
