Greek Defense Minister: Need for NATO-EU cooperation on terror issues

Greek Defence Minister Panos Kammenos asked for the control of the sea region of southeastern Europe through which oil, weapons and drugs for terror organisations are smuggled, speaking at a roundtable discussion on the European defence and the Transatlantic relations which was held in the context of the 53rd Security Conference in Munich.

Kammenos reiterated the need for cooperation between NATO and European Union’s intelligence services on issues of terrorism.

The Greek minister also attended an event hosted by Bavarian Prime Minister Horst Seehofer in honour of the heads of the delegations that participate in the Security Conference.
