Quadripartite Balkan Summit concludes in Bulgaria

The latest developments in the Balkans, stability ensuring and enhancement, as well as the area’s European prospects, which have become a central issue in view of the Bulgarian presidency in the first six months of 2018, were the main issues on the agenda of the first Greek – Bulgarian – Serbian – Romanian Summit that was organized on Tuesday in Varna, Bulgaria.

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras underlined, among others, that the four countries together can play an essential role in peace, stability, progress and co-development in the broader area. “Our common future cannot be built upon nationalism”, he said. The Greek Premier also referred to the issue of cooperation in energy, economy and transport, as well as to the issues of crises management, security and the refugee crisis.
