Greece has been converted from a source of problems to a source of solutions, US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt said on Wednesday at the Economist conference, while congratulating the new Greek prime minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and his government on a seamless transition and dedication to Greek-US relations, ANA reports.
He noted that the meeting between the new Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias and U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo during the Greek minister’s trip to Washington, which began on Wednesday, indicates the speed at which U.S.-Greek relations are progressing, noting that they are now at their highest point yet.
“We are delighted with our relationship and our cooperation,” Pyatt noted, adding that the two countries were now collaborating in a number of areas, including energy and trade.
Lastly, referring to Turkey, he said that it is in Turkey’s best interests to have a good relationship with Greece.
