US to donate €2.9 million for refugee unaccompanied minors in Greece

The US government’s financial assistance to improve the living conditions of refugee unaccompanied minors and to support the islands against the Covid-19 pandemic is estimated at 2.9 million dollars, Alternate Migration and Asylum Minister Giorgos Koumoutsakos announced on Thursday, after his meeting with the US Ambassador to Greece, Geoffrey Pyatt, ANA reports.

On his part, Pyatt pointed out that the United States, like Greece’s partners in the EU, recognizes that Greece bears a burden on behalf of the broader international community and “deserves all the support we can provide.”
