Minister sees possible de-escalation of the pandemic in Greece after April 15

The market, throughout April, will continue to operate with the click away and click inside methods, Development and Investment Minister Adonis Georgiadis said on Wednesday in an interview with Skai TV, according to ANA.

“We are in the last 3-4 weeks of the pandemic. We knew from the beginning that the peak of the pandemic in Europe would be between March 15 and April 15. In April, the stores will operate as they do today.”

Nevertheless, he said that shopping centers may reopen as of next Monday, April 12. As for restaurants, cafes, and bars, he estimated that they may open in mid-May.

Asked whether movements between regions will be permitted at Easter, Georgiadis stated that “with the state of the pandemic as it is, we can not predict what will happen three weeks later. What is certain is that, if conditions permit, we have no reason not to allow it.” He clarified, however, that restrictions will apply if travel is allowed.
