TRAINOSE requests passengers' understanding for Athens-Thessaloniki route delays

ΤRAINOSE on Wednesday asked passengers for their understanding regarding the recent delays in its services on the Athens-Thessaloniki-Athens line, as well as to some services on the Athens-Chalkida suburban railway, due to the poor condition of the tracks, which have not yet been fully repaired after the damage caused by the Medea cold front, ANA reports.
According to TRAINOSE’s announcement, the lack of electromobility on the Aghios Stephanos-Afidnes section of the line due to a fallen tree makes it necessary to use a diesel locomotive in that specific section. Τhe diesel engines are then replaced with electric engines at Oinoi station and continue their journey to Thessaloniki. This causes delays in the scheduled journey times.
