Amendment to forbid access to forests and parks when fire risk is high in Greece

An amendment tabled by the climate crisis and civil protection ministry, attached to a shipping ministry bill on yachting that is to be voted on in Parliament on Tuesday, will ban both individuals and vehicles from entering forest ecosystems, parks, and NATURA areas on days when the risk of fire is high, ANA reports.
According to the amendment, the decision banning transit, staying, and circulation in these areas will be issued by the regional governor of each area, while each violation carries a fine of 300 euros.
