Australia’s Governor General David Hurley will soon be visiting Greece for the first time in over 25 years that an Australian state leader is visiting the country, the Australian Ambassador to Athens Arthur Spyrou tweeted on Wednesday, ANA reports.
En route to King Charles’ coronation ceremony (May 6), Hurley and his spouse are visiting “to celebrate the historic links and close friendship between our nations! Their excellencies will also visit Lemnos to commemorate the Australian & New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) connection to the island,” Spyrou noted.
