Greek, Romanian and Finnish evacuees from Sudan land at Tanagra air base near Athens

A C-27J Spartan transport carrier of the Hellenic Air Force landed at the Tanagra air base shortly after 16:00 on Wednesday, carrying 16 Greek nationals, 1 Greek Cypriot woman, 9 Romanians, and 8 Finnish who were evacuated from Sudan, where a civil war is raging, ANA reports.

Shortly before the C-27J’s arrival, another C-17 left from Elefsina air base to evacuate Greek and other European citizens from Sudan, via Aswan, Egypt.
