Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis had a series of online meetings with Greek ambassadors throughout the world on Friday. Gerapetritis began by addressing the Greek ambassadors stationed in the Asia-Pacific area, followed by those in Europe and the Balkans, diplomatic sources said, ANA reports.
According to the sources, the foreign minister outlined the priorities of the political leadership and emphasized the decisive role of economic openness and more intensive economic diplomacy. He also referred to the importance of promptly briefing Greeks abroad, in collaboration with the foreign ministry, on how expatriates can participate in the upcoming European elections via a postal vote.
Also in the context of serving the Greek diaspora and Greek citizens abroad, Gerapetritis noted that providing them with service through the Greek consular authorities was a top priority while pointing to the new digital tools that the Greek State has established for this purpose, such as the new multilingual digital assistant presented at the ministry on Thursday.
