Ms. Ioanna Varvarigou, Marketing and Strategic Communication Executive, was recently appointed to the position of Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Tourism Organization, for a term of 4 years.
Also, the duties of Head – Accountant of the GNTO Romania Service were assigned to Ms. Maria Rachmanidou, in parallel with her duties as Head of the GNTO Turkey Service. The validity of the parallel duties will not exceed 6 months.
By another decision, Ms. Maria Andritsou, Head of the Department of Coordination and Support of External Services, was appointed as Deputy Head of the Directorate of Internal and External Services of the Greek National Tourism Organization, until the selection and appointment of a new Head in this position.
Furthermore, it was decided that Ms. Kourousia will remain as Head – Accountant of the Greek National Tourism Organization Foreign Service in Spain, until 31 March 2026 at the latest.
It is recalled that the operation of the Greek National Tourism Organization Office in Spain has been suspended. The Head of the Office will remain in Spain, hosted by the Greek Embassy in Madrid, until all the promotion and visibility programs for which commitments have been made and are in progress are completed (advertising and/or co-advertising programs, press and fam trips, preparation for participation in the international exhibitions IBTM 2025 and FITUR 2026).
In the meantime, by decision of the Greek National Tourism Organization, it was decided to purchase a sponsorship package for participation in the Roadshow “Around the World – Roadshows 2025 HY2”, in exchange for compensatory benefits for the Organization. The Roadshow will take place between 17 and 21 November 2025 in five German cities: Augsburg (17.11), Ulm (18.11), Mainz (19.11), Düsseldorf (20.11) and Dortmund (21.11). These actions effectively contribute to the promotion of our country and to the formation of a positive image for the Greek destination in the German tourist market.
Furthermore, the Hellenic National Tourism Organization (GNTO) Scandinavia Service will financially participate in the organization of the B2B event “Travel News Market 2025”, which will be held in Stockholm on November 27, in exchange for compensatory benefits. This specific event, which has been held every year for the last decade, attracts over 1,500 people, industry professionals (Tourist Agencies, Airlines, T.O., Experts, MICE professionals, etc.) as well as representatives of the media who are looking for new destinations and tourism products for the Scandinavians through B2B meetings and discussions, while more than 150 exhibitors (National Tourism Organizations, Airlines, etc.) will participate.
