The Minister of Tourism, Ms. Olga Kefalogiannis, was paid a courtesy visit by the President of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Ioannis Sarakakis.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on ways of cooperation between the Ministry of Tourism and the Greek National Tourism Organization with the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce to increase the flow of tourists from the USA, especially through cultural tourism and to promote investments, utilizing the one-stop shop for tourism investments that has been operating successfully for twelve years at the Ministry of Tourism.
The historical friendship between the two countries and the strong Greek diaspora element constitute the foundations for the further deepening and expansion of bilateral tourism cooperation, which is already at a very high level, with American inbound tourism to Greece consistently ranking at the top of the rankings and continuously increasing.
Finally, it was agreed between Minister Ms. Kefalogianni and Mr. Sarakakis to examine more thoroughly, between the Ministry’s Services and the competent bodies of the American-Hellenic Chamber, the forms and methods of their cooperation, with the aim of further developing Greek-American tourism relations.
