The Greek island of Santorini is missing from ‘Travel+Leisure’ magazine’s 26 best romantic destinations.
The magazine describes the ideal romantic escape destination as a place where a couple can get away from the routine and everyday stress and invests some time in only each other without any distraction.
Nevertheless, there still is a Greek representative on the list with the country’s capital, namely Athens, making its entry into the top romantic spots.
The capital of Greece ranks 12th on the list.
The magazine explains that even though the Greek islands have a special place in the hearts of tourists, Athens has become quite appealing lately, with its picturesque Plaka area.
It also distinguishes the roof top bars of the city which offer a great vista of Athens by night.
