Athens municipality puts out 35 drinking troughs to help city's strays

Athens Municipality announced the placing of 35 drinking troughs at various locations across the Greek capital to help stray animals cope with the extra-high temperatures expected this week.

Authorities also urged residents to assist in keeping the troughs clean and filled with water in all locations including Syntagma Square, Mitropoleos Street, Monastirakiou Street, Kaniggos Square, Klafthmonos Square, Victoria Square, Koumoundourou and Agiou Nikolaou, the Temple of Olympian Zeus park, Irodou Attikou, next to the City Hall, in Evangelismos park, the Arts Centre park and Rizari park, on Lycabettus and Strefi Hill, Fokionos Negri pedestrian road and the Plato’s Academy park.
