Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall take a stroll through center of Athens

Britain’s royal heir Prince Charles, escorted by his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, took a stroll in the sunshine through the centre of Athens on Thursday, after their meeting with the head of the Greek Orthodox Church, Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece.

Leaving the Athens Archdiocese, the royal couple made their way on foot to the Panagia Kapnikarea Church on commercial Ermou street. Along the way, they stopped and bought a traditional “koulouri” – a ring-shaped sesame bun – from a street vendor and spoke with several passers-by that recognised the two royals and took photographs of them with their phones.
