The works for the extension of the Thessaloniki metro will commence this year, Infrastructure and Transport Minister Christos Spirtzis said on Thursday in an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency’s radio station Praktoreio 104.9 FM.
“I believe that they will begin this year. The dialogue with the local authorities has already been completed … I think we will soon start the works on the extension of the metro,” Spirtzis noted, pointing out that the extension of the metro concerns first the western side of the city and then the airport.
