The Hellenic Hoteliers Federation (HHF) noted in an announcement that it invests in the Greek tourism’s extroversion and supports the major international fairs, protects the environment, the cyclical economy and the sustainable growth.
HHF takes part in the International conference “ECOCITY FORUM 2018” on cyclical economy in the smart cities that started on Wednesday and will end on Friday at the Concert Hall of Thessaloniki.
The conference is held by ECOCITY under the scientific support of Aristotelion University of Thessaloniki under the auspices of the President of Republic Prokopios Pavlopoulos.
Top representatives of agencies play a pivotal role in the formation of the European policy as the European Environmental Agency (EEA), the European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO), the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the World Tourism Organisation (WTO), will participate in the agency.
The president of HHF board Grigoris Tasios will represent the federation and will be one of the coordinators of the debate “Tourism sector and Cyclical economy” on Friday at 14:30.
Eighteen universities and scientific institutes, five environmental networks, five professionals unions and more than seventy speakers will participate in the FORUM.
During the forum there will be 16 parallel sessions, 4 round table debates and 8 workshops. The ECOCITY Circular Economy Guidebook, a manual on the implementation of the cyclical economy strategies will also be prepared.
In another related development, a report carried out by GBR Consulting for the Thessaloniki Hotels Association indicated that the number of overnight stays increased by 33,000 during the first eight months of 2018 reaching 1,596,426 from 1,563,841 last year.
