Lycabettus theatre will be restored and ready to reopen its gates by next fall, it was announced on Thursday, at a press conference organized by the Region of Attica and Public Properties Company, the two entities in charge of the restoration, ANA reports.
Further to reopening the theater on the highest hill of Athens, a competition will be held inviting architects to propose ideas for the currently neglected area surrounding the theatre, it was also announced. The total budget for the project, which the Region of Attica will fund exclusively, is 2,234,000 euros. Once completed, the theatre will be placed under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
