Greek Deputy Tourism Minister Manos Konsolas referred to the development of polycentric city tourism with Athens and the wider region of Attica as its main pillar, while addressing the 20th Real Estate Conference – Prodexpo 2019, according to ANA.
Mr. Konsolas, who spoke at the conference on Tuesday, focused on Athens’ attractiveness as a tourism destination, stressing that this was linked to comprehensive plans to improve the urban environment, through redevelopment, cleanliness, and security.
He also referred to “cultural clustering” initiatives that involved the transformation of decayed post-industrial urban areas into attractive and lively neighborhoods with recreational and cultural areas.
