Athens city extends measures for protection of the homeless due to cold front

The municipality of Athens on Thursday announced an extension of emergency measures for the protection of the homeless due to the cold weather prevailing in the Greek capital, according to ANA.

The heated areas at the Friendship Club on Panormou Street, the dormitory on Alikarnassou Street at Akadimia Platonos and the first floor of the 4th municipal community will remain open. At the same time, a team at the reception and solidarity center of the municipality of Athens will continue to offer hot tea, food, blankets, and basic supplies to areas where there are homeless people.
