Greece and Italy share findings of Erasmus-related police training program in Athens

The conclusions of a training program for Hellenic Police officers by Italian authorities under the Erasmus program were presented in Athens on Friday by Greek Citizen Protection Minister Takis Theodorikakos and Italian Ambassador Patrizia Falcinelli, ANA reports.

A total of 27 police officers participated in the program “Cooperation on vocational education and training” and paid training visits to the headquarters of the Public Security Department (Interior Ministry), and the State Police (Polizia di Stato), the Italian gendarmerie (Arma dei Carabinieri), and the Financial Guard (Guarda di Finanza) and learned about best practices and law enforcement in Italy.

Speaking of the relations between Italy and Greece, Ambassador Falcinelli said, are friends, allies, and neighbors who “cannot ignore each other when it comes to their own internal security.” The excellent level of relations between the two countries’ police forces have allowed them to achieve better results in recent years, including the arrest of several fugitives of the law, Falcinelli said.
