The 36th anniversary of the launch of Athens’ first municipal radio station, Athens 98.4 FM, was celebrated in a special event held at the Technopolis City of Athens amphitheater on Wednesday, ANA reports.
The station was created at the initiative of the late politician and former Athens mayor Miltiadis Evert. At the event, the Technopolis amphitheater was renamed the ‘Auditorium Miltiadis Evert ‘ in his honor.
Speaking at the event, Athens Mayor Kostas Bakoyiannis said that “It is truly a great honor that today the Municipality of Athens is giving back to Miltiadis Evert some of the many things he so generously offered us.”
