Four public parks or groves in Athens run by the Attica Region have shut down on Wednesday and will remain closed as long as temperatures are very high, by order of Regional Director Giorgos Patoulis, ANA reports.
They include Metropolitan Park ‘Antonis Tritsis’ (in Ilion), Pedion tou Areos Park (near the National Archaeological Museum/Alexandras), Finopoulos Hill (Gyzi), and Attiko Alsos (Galatsi).
All events at the Attiko Alsos Theater ‘Katina Paxinou’ are also canceled.
