Dynamic promotion of the Greek city of Thessaloniki in the Irish market

More than 15,000 visitors visited the booth of the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, at the ”Holiday World Show” 2025, in Dublin, seeking information about the city, its attractions, activities, and flavors.

Thessaloniki is at the center of British Airways’ interest.

Due to the excellent presence of Thessaloniki at the exhibition and the close cooperation of the OTTH with Mrs. Eleni Skarveli, Director of the GNTO office in the United Kingdom and Ireland, the 1st fam trip of the core team of the Manchester & Birmingham call centers was agreed with British Airways, in order to promote the city.

Thessaloniki is at the center of the media.

Thessaloniki secured the hosting of journalists for the coming months, who work in leading Irish media outlets, such as the Irish Sun, the Sun on Sunday, the Irish Mail on Sunday, and Ireland’s Travel trade network.

The participation in the International Exhibition ”Holiday World Show” 2025, was implemented with the support of the Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

From Thessaloniki to Ireland: A journey of flavors and culture.

During the exhibition, a meeting was held with Grainne O’Connor, director of the Cuilcagh Lakelands UNESCO Geopark in Ireland, and the expansion of cooperation between the two countries was discussed, under the umbrella of UNESCO and in the context of Thessaloniki’s inclusion in the UNESCO Creative Cities network for gastronomy and the unique products of the wider region.

Thessaloniki’s success in the ”Holiday World Show” 2025 proves that the city is emerging as an attractive tourist destination for more and more nationalities.
