Municipality of Athens: Free guided tours in November to historical sites of the city

A unique experience where the past meets the present in the neighborhoods and landmarks of the city awaits the residents of Athens once again.

The Municipality of Athens is offering free guided tours of historical sites, archaeological areas, museums, and cultural and art venues across the city. The tours, organized by the Organization of Culture, Sports and Youth of the City of Athens (OPANDA) in collaboration with the Association of Licensed Tourist Guides of Athens, begin on Saturday, November 15, 2025.

The Mayor of Athens, Haris Doukas, stated:

“We follow the ‘paths’ of history and culture with the aim of getting to know Athens better.

Over the coming weekends, through unique storytelling, participants will have the chance to discover both well-known and ‘hidden’ sides of the urban landscape, sharing in the experience of collective memory and strengthening the city’s shared identity.

I am delighted that citizens of all ages have embraced this initiative. Together, we rediscover Athens. We look forward to walking it with you.”

The President of OPANDA, Eleni Zontirou, added:

“The Municipality of Athens’ free guided tours have now become a beloved institution that brings the public closer to the city’s rich past and cultural heritage, highlighting Athens’ vibrant identity through knowledge and experience.”

Participation in the tours is free with entry passes, available at https://www.more.com/gr-el/tickets/
.
Please note that museum or archaeological site entrance tickets are not included and must be covered by participants.
